Philippine Embassy in Berlin starts Overseas Voting Registration Drive in Germany

Berlin– The Philippine Embassy in Berlin announced the start of the overseas voting registration for all Filipino citizens abroad, especially those residing in Germany, for the May 2016 Philippine National Elections.

Ms. Rosemarie Splajt, a resident of Erlangen, Germany, was at the Philippine Embassy at 9am and was the first  to apply as an overseas voter.

AFP Chief of Staff General Bautista delivers speech on regional security at the German Senior Military Academy and visits ITLOS

Hamburg 8 May 2014 – General Emmanuel Bautista, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, delivered a presentation on “Security Policy and Strategic Situation in the Southeast Asian Region” at the prestigious German Armed Forces Command and Staff College (Führungsakademie der Bundeswehr) today, upon invitation of Major General Achim Lidsba, Commandant of the academy.

 

Speaking before experienced military officers, including foreign students, of the Führungsakademie, General Bautista also explained the Philippine position on the West Philippine Sea/ South China Sea.

The Philippines and Germany have recently reinvigorated defense relations and revived cooperation in military training. Bilateral defense consultations took place in Manila February 2013. Another round of bilateral talks will also take place in Germany this quarter. Germany has also offered several slots for Filipino officers to undergo short training courses in
Germany, including for UN Military Observer Course, and also for the command and general staff officer training courses at the Führungsakademie.

Philippine Embassy Berlin Conducts Consular Outreach in Hamburg

Philippine Embassy officials led by Consul Adrian Cruz is joined by the Federation of Filipino Organizations in Northern Germany e.V. (FFONG) officers and BOG members, who took time off to assist in the mobile consular outreach held in Hamburg, Germany.
Berlin – The Philippine Embassy in Berlin composed of Consul Adrian Cruz, Mr. Ruben Atienza, Ms. Melinda Hernias, Ms. Lia Sale, Ms. Rowena Adaya and Mr. Melchor Francisco conducted a consular mobile outreach service in Hamburg on 29 March 2014 in cooperation with the Federation of Filipino Organisations in Northern Germany e.V. (FFONG).

 

The consular team coordinated with the officers and members of the Board of Governors of the FFONG in implementing a pre-registration system to manage the flow of consular applicants.

The activity, which was held at the Ökumenische Forum HafenCity, Hamburg, is the first outreach to be conducted for the year. The consular team facilitated a total of 92 e-passport applications, 30 assorted authentication and notarial services, 7 civil registry applications and one visa application. In addition to these consular services, the team also offered legal
consultation and advice for former Filipinos who are interested to acquire dual citizenship.

Berlin. 07 April. Responding to the queries of its readers, German daily newspaper, Der Tagesspiegel, immediately called for donations after typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) hit the Central Visayas region in the Philippines in November 2013.

Five months after the catastrophe, Der Tagesspiegel invited the Philippine Ambassador, H. E. Maria Cleofe R. Natividad to a turnover ceremony of the cheque worth EUR 256,981.63 to Tagesspiegel’s German partner, Bündnis Entwicklung Hilft” (Alliance Development Assistance) on 7 April 2014.

PHILIPPINES AND GERMANY CONCLUDE NEGOTIATIONS ON SOCIAL SECURITY AGREEMENT

BERLIN – The final round of negotiations on a Philippine-German bilateral agreement on social security took place at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS) in Berlin from 24 to 28 March 2013.


Ambassador Maria Cleofe Natividad opened the negotiations and expressed optimism that the second round would succeed. She cited ‘positive signs’ for a prompt conclusion of the negotiations, such as the recent signing of a labor agreement facilitating the deployment of Filipino nurses to Germany as well as the ‘perfect timing’, as the Philippines and Germany are celebrating the 60th year of diplomatic relations in 2014.
