The Year 2010 Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas

The Philippine Embassy in Berlin is pleased to inform the public that the nominations for the Year 2010 Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas is now open. The Presidential Awards is a biennial search to recognize exceptional individuals and organizations for their outstanding contribution to Philippine progress and development. The Awards are also conferred on overseas Filipinos who have shown excellence and distinction in their work or profession. It was instituted in 1991 and has so far been conferred on 314 overseas-based individuals and organizations. The awarding ceremonies held at Malacanang Palace, Manila in observance of the Month of Overseas Filipinos in December 2010.


There are four categories of awards to be conferred on Filipinos and private organizations overseas. These are Lingkod sa Kapwa Pilipino (Linkapil) Award, Banaag Award, Kaanib ng Bayan Award and Pamana Award.

The award is open to Filipino individuals, associations (both formal and informal), communities overseas, as well as foreign private individuals and organizations abroad. All nominations should be submitted to the Philippine Embassy Berlin’s Awards Committee which in turn will endorse the same to the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO).

Any interested individual or organization, whether Filipino or foreign, based in the Philippines or overseas, may submit nominations for the awards.

All nominations should be submitted and received by the Embassy or any of its consular offices in Germany on or before 30 April 2010.
