Filipino Visual Artists break in the Berlin Art Scene

Bong Delfin and Jigger Cruz will hold separate shows in Berlin, the epicenter of contemporary art, from April to August 2015.  

 

BONG DELFIN

Rossbert “Bong” Delfin has been successfully chosen as one of the participating artists to the international art fair “Berlin Art Goes Live “ (B.AGL), a platform for emerging artists to present their art to an interested audience.  B.AGL will take place from 30 April to 3 May 2015 at the Postbahnhof (near station Ostbahnhof) - B.AGL ART afFAIRs Straße der Pariser Kommune 8, 10243 Berlin.  For tickets and more information, please visit - http://www.bagl-berlin.com/ .  He will also have a solo exhibition on May 15-30 at Ethnik Art Gallery, Mariannenstrasse 28, Kreuzberg, Berlin

Delfin, an industrial engineer by profession, hails from South Cotabato.  He worked as an au pair in Denmark before pursuing his passion in visual arts.  In 2013, he won Artist of the Year at the International Art Fair in Kertminde, Denmark.  

 

JIGGER CRUZ

Considered one of the most promising artists of Southeast Asian art and the main representative of the young generation of the Philippines, Jigger Cruz will have a solo exhibition at the Arndt Gallery, Potsdamer Strasse 96, 10785 Berlin, from 3 June to 29 August 2015.  For more information, please visit - http://www.arndtberlin.com/

Cruz studied Fine Arts at the Far Eastern University in the Philippines and Design at De La Salle-College of St. Benilde.  He mounted his first solo exhibition in Manila in 2008 and presented his first solo exhibition abroad in 2012.  He is currently based in Manila, Philippines.
