One of Berlin’s most-awaited annual cultural events, the All Nations Festival “Children’s Games” was celebrated at the Philippine Embassy with Palarong Pinoy and a lively Filipino fiesta atmosphere. Visitors from various nations took part in traditional Philippine games such as Pabitin, Sipa, Tumbang Preso, Pukpuk Palayok, and Pin the Carabao’s tail, to name a few.

Ambassador Natividad and her daughters Sophia and Alex give an interview with German media RBB and MDR.
In an exclusive interview with RBB TV station, Amb. Natividad emphasized that the Philippine Embassy’s participation in the KinderSpiel is aimed at deepening cultural understanding between Filipinos and Germans.

The Filipino community in Berlin supported the Embassy’s activities by providing various traditional children’s games, serving Filipino food, and showcasing some handicraft exhibits. The Filipiniana Dance Group performed traditional folk dances under the choreography of Ms. Veronica Boensch. The Asian Harmony Choir, headed by its Musical Director, Mr. Kevin Orteza, performed a medley of Filipino children’s songs to the delight of the audience.

“Pabitin“ for the young ones.
The annual All Nations Festival is an Open House Day of participating embassies in Berlin which gives an opportunity for the German public to visit the various embassies in the German capital.  For 2012, twenty-five (25) embassies and 3 cultural institutions participated during the Kinderspiele Festival. The Embassy’s participation at the Festival was also an excellent opportunity to promote the Dept. of Tourism’s country brand campaign, “It’s more fun in the Philippines.”

Alex Natividad (second from left), daughter of Ambassador Natividad, and Bianca and Sophie Cruz, daughters of Consul Adrian Cruz, show their artistic talent.
This year’s Palarong Pinoy for the All Nation’s Festival follows the successful participation of the Philippine Embassy at last year’s Festival, where the Philippine Embassy was the sole venue chosen by the RBB radio station for a live broadcast of the events and activities.

The Embassy hosts the booth of SOS Kinderdörfer Weltweit.
Throughout the festivities, the Embassy hosted the booth of SOS Kinderdörfer Weltweit. The SOS Kinderdörfer is a non-governmental organization with several humanitarian projects and Children’s Villages in the Philippines. The SOS Kinderdörfer Weltweit is a regular partner of the All Nations Festival.
